One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is getting to travel to places I’ve never been before. Last weekend was no exception! After a little road trip down south, I met up with Ashley and David for their engagement session at Longwood University. While I’ve heard lots of wonderful things about Farmville this was my first time getting to explore the town and school myself. Ashley and David were great hosts for the day and I loved learning about the local history and university legends.

We started out at a local wine tasting room for some cozy pictures of Ashley and David on a cute swing bed. After a quick outfit change, we swung by a few other spots around town before heading toward the water. Ashley scoped out a great spot along the Appomattox River. By this point it was absolutely freezing outside, but they were troopers about the cold and stuck with it! We wrapped up their engagement portraits at Longwood University. The campus is gorgeous! It has beautiful white columns, grassy lawns and tons of history. It was nice getting a tour while taking their photos! Their three pups even joined us for some of the photos with cute leashes Ashley had made herself!

Ashley and David both actually went to high school with me, but we’d only gotten in touch a little while back about wedding photography. They are planning a beautiful wedding at Glencliff Manor next year. I am so excited to be the one capturing their big day! Check out a few of my favorites below!
