It’s been a few weeks since the cherry blossoms, but Amanda and Josh’s engagement session is up on the blog! Originally we had picked out a weekend in March for their engagement photos, but because of the crazy spring we had in D.C. the trees refused to bloom. For a while it seemed like the peek forecast date was changing every few days! We were finally able to pin down a date in April and managed to catch the cherry blossoms at their very best.
I have to give credit to these two because you’d never know the weather was freezing! We arrived at the Jefferson to 30 degree temperatures – enough to make you shiver in a bunch of layers. Amanda in particular was a trooper! She toughed it out in two different sundresses during the session (with frequent breaks for a coat and hand warmers), but was still smiling in the end.
Amanda and Josh are getting married in the fall at Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall. Most of the weddings I capture are out in Virginia so I’m so excited to venture into the city for a change! In the meantime check out a few of my favorites from their cherry blossoms engagement session below!
