Every time I photograph a new couple I’m always so grateful for the opportunity to be the one to capture their memories. It’s even more special when two close friends trust you with that responsibility. Sarah and I met in college and during our time a JMU studied abroad and ran on the executive board of a club together. Huw is originally from Wales and they met when he was in the U.S. visiting a mutual friend. Three years later he proposed on the beach in Tenby, Wales when Sarah was visiting. I am so excited to be the one capturing her and Huw’s photos!
I drove back down to the Shenandoah Valley a few weeks ago to meet them at Raven’s Roost Overlook. This little spot off of the Blue Ridge Parkway is easy to miss if you didn’t slow down, but the views of the Shenandoah Valley are amazing. We had the overlook almost entirely to ourselves and the most amazing light the whole session.
I am so excited and honored to get to be the one to capture memories for Sarah and Huw. They’re two of the most genuine people and after years of flying back and forth across the Atlantic to see each other I can’t wait for them to officially be married in March!
