Summer Wedding at Rust Manor House in Leesburg, VA

Susie and Corey’s beautiful summer wedding at Rust Manor House in Leesburg, VA has been waiting for a spot on the blog for quite some time now!

Between their venue, a historic mansion and tent situated on a 68-acre nature sanctuary, and their thoughtful planning of their day, their vision of a classic and romantic garden party themed wedding came to life. When I think back to their day, the main word that comes to mind is relaxed. The moment I arrived everything was flowing smoothly. The guys were hanging out downstairs and suiting up, while the girls were popping champagne on the back steps. Later, they had a first look and portraits with their closest loved ones.

CEREMONY

They held their ceremony outdoors with the venue just behind them. As lovely as Rust Manor is, Susie and Cory truly elevated it with a bold floral arbor and lush arrangements of cream and blush pink florals throughout. Guests arrived and were greeted to the sounds of a string duo, which set the tone for the evening. Corey and his groomsmen wore black tuxedos with bow ties, while Susie wore an A-line dress with a jeweled sweetheart neckline and her bridesmaids wore blush pink dresses with varying necklines. The couple said, “I do,” under the arbor.

RECEPTION

After the ceremony, everyone transitioned into the tent for the reception, where the ceilings were adorned with white draping, greenery and gold chandeliers to give the tent a light and airy feel. Their cream and blush color palette extended from the linens to the candles to the flowers. There was also a lounge area of vintage furniture rentals so guests could take a break from the dance floor to relax and mingle. Contrasting with the vintage rentals was a mid-century styled bar with geometric angles and a greenery wall with a custom neon sign. During dinner, we snuck out to the edge of the nature reserve for a few sunset portraits before Susie and Corey rejoined their guests for toasts and dancing. Before the evening ended, there was a surprise! Westray’s ice cream truck showed up with a variety of fun ice cream and gelato for guests to enjoy!
