One of my favorite things is when a location is meaningful to my couples. For Murali and Joey, we started their engagement session at Mitchell Park, which holds a special place in their hearts. They started dating at the beginning of the pandemic, so most of their first few dates took place outside at Mitchell Park. It was so sweet to incorporate a place that holds so much history for them! We were also joined by their rescue pup, Chance, for a few of the photos. After Mitchell Park, we headed down the street to take some portraits at the Spanish Steps. It was my first time at this location and I loved that it was a place that was uniquely D.C. without being a monument!
For the second half of their session they wanted a spot that was a bit more of a classic D.C. backdrop so we drove across the city and took portraits at the Capitol and the Library of Congress. A lot of the barriers and gates were unfortunately still up, but dodged them as best as we could and fixed the rest with a little bit of Photoshop magic! Our session ended at their favorite restaurant, Little Pearl, for a few last shots before I left them to a super cute date night.
I’m so excited to photograph these two again for their wedding in just a few months at Lincoln’s Cottage with Angelica & Co.!
