If you’ve ever read any of my other D.C. engagement session blogs you’ll know I love a D.C. monuments sunrise session! All though I’m far from a morning person and am definitely not a person who likes driving in a city I am always so excited for these engagement sessions! Sunrises in Washington D.C. are beautiful and there’s something so magical about having these beautiful, historic spots to yourselves (or at least emptier than usual!).
Kelly and I had connected on Instagram shortly after she and Nick got engaged. We chatted a bunch about wedding planning and while it turns out I was already booked on her wedding date I was so honored when she still wanted me to take some engagement photos for them! These two woke up bright and early to meet me on the mall for their D.C. monuments sunrise session. We went on a full tour of some of my favorite portrait locations starting with a few in Constitution Gardens before walking over to the Lincoln Memorial. We wrapped up their session at the D.C. War Memorial by popping some champagne. It was such a fun personal touch to add to the end of their engagement session!
I am so glad I got the chance to photograph these two and can’t wait to see all of their wedding plans come together for their big day at Fleetwood Farm Winery next fall!
