One thing that’s for sure is that I am definitely NOT a morning person, but the one thing that I’m always excited to wake up at dawn for is a session at the D.C. monuments – especially if we’re going to the Lincoln Memorial! I’m pretty sure I’ll never get sick of photographing couples in love in among the white marble columns. It’s just so quintessential D.C. and a classic backdrop for any couples who fell in love in the district!
Susie and Corey braved the early morning with me on Labor Day for their engagement photos! We’d connected on Instagram a few months back and I am so excited to be their wedding photographer! We started their portraits at the Lincoln Memorial with the prettiest sunrise light. Our second stop was a just a short walk away, but I have to commend Susie and Corey on being troopers with the heat! Despite it being 7:30am the humidity was crazy hot for September. These two were troopers though and knocked it out of the park with their posing for photos despite how warm it was. The second stop at the D.C. War Memorial are some of my favorites that I’ve taken there!
Finally, we wrapped up their session with a few photos in the willow trees at Constitution Gardens. I had so much fun getting to know these two and I can’t wait to have them in front of my camera again for their June wedding at Rust Manor House!
I'm a Virginia wedding photographer serving the DMV and worldwide. I strive to balance the composed with the candid and capture vibrant, timeless images for my couples.
