This session has been sitting waiting to be shared for far too long now! Early in the summer I got to work on a really fun project- branding photos for my friends, Harrison Films!
Deanna and Grant are D.C. based filmmakers. They met during their first week of film school and quickly became best friends as they spent time filming weddings together on the weekends. A few years later their friendship turned into something more and now they’re the husband and wife team behind Harrison Films! Their formal education, decade-long careers in film production and the excitement they bring to each wedding day makes them an incredible team to work with. After working with many wedding filmmakers over the years, I can easily say these two are some of my very favorite to work with! They are joyful and intentional in everything they do and create films that are true to each couple they work with.
In the days leading up to the session we talked a lot about what they wanted reflected in the photos. For their brand formal headshots and them posing with their gear wasn’t really the vibe they were going for. Instead they wanted it to reflect their own personalities and what they were like as husband and wife team. We started their session at their home in Capitol Hill, capturing photos of them snuggled up and strategizing business plans on the couch before moving into the kitchen for a second backdrop and incorporating some fun touches like their favorite snacks, drinks and flowers.
After a quick pizza break, the three of us headed out on the town! Deanna and Grant took me on a tour of some of their favorite places to take walks together and we made stops along the way. We wrapped up the evening at the Supreme Court for a few classic D.C. portraits to end the evening. I had so much fun working with these two on a project outside of a wedding day and am so excited to share some of my favorites from their brand session below!
