Anytime I get to visit Tranquility Farm for a wedding, I’m excited! This beautiful wedding venue tucked in Purcellville, Virginia is one of my favorites. Their space hosts a rustic barn & stable, fieldstone manor from 1807 and so many different ceremony backdrops on their huge property.

Zac and Nycole met at Virginia Tech and have been together for over seven years! Last December they were on a trip to Italy visiting friends and spent a few days in Florence. At sunset at the top of Piazzale Michelangelo Zac proposed! These two love to travel so it was only fitting they got engaged while traveling together.

The day of their wedding was probably the most beautiful August day imaginable! It was a breezy and sunny day with not a cloud in the sky. When I arrived at Tranquility Farm I was amazed we’d gotten such a perfect day in August. Just a month before, Nycole and Zac’s engagement session at Harper’s Ferry had less than perfect weather. It left the three of us caught soaked in a storm. It seemed like the universe was making up for it!

I started the day capturing Nycole’s details. Recently, softer pastel palettes have been the most popular so it’s always fun to get to capture something different. They picked a bright pink and purple palette that stood out. After we’d taken photos of her and her bridesmaids getting ready and paused for some bridal portraits, the group of us made our way up the hill to the high field for a ceremony with Tranquility’s silo in the backdrop. A beautiful cocktail hour by the manor house followed, before guests were welcome into the antique barn for the reception.  Zac and Nycole had one of the most packed dance floors I’ve seen in a while. The night ended with a sparkler exit before Nycole and Zac whisked away in a blue Mustang.

Zac and Nycole, thank you so much for having me capture your wedding day! It has been so much fun getting to know you two over the past few months. From getting caught in a torrential downpour in West Virginia to your wedding day you all have been a joy to work with. I wish you two all the best. Congratulations!
