Another new favorite engagement session is up on the blog, and once again it was hard to narrow it down to just a few favorites! I had such a great time finally getting to meet Aspen and Dan in D.C. a few weeks ago! These two D.C. transplants met through a mutual friend and have been together since 2017. After a rainy day got in the way of Dan’s plans to propose in Meridian Hill Park he improvised with Chick-Fil-a, champagne and an engagement ring balloon around their dog’s neck to surprise Aspen with a proposal.
Aspen and Dan booked with me way back in January so I’d been waiting over six months to meet these two in person! Along with their adorable pup, Noka we braved the crowds around the Lincoln Memorial for their engagement session. After taking some portraits along the Reflecting Pool and at the Memorial we made our way over to Constitution Gardens. Only a short walk away, the Constitution Gardens was the perfect escape from the summer tourists and made for the perfect natural backdrop to our earlier photos.
Dan and Aspen are a ton of fun to be around, easy to talk to and just a joy to photograph. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next summer at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club!
