This shoot is particularly exciting because it’s my parents’ anniversary session, AND I’m sharing all my favorites on the blog on their anniversary! For the past few months my sisters and I have been secretly planning a photoshoot to celebrate Mom and Dad’s 25th anniversary. Two weeks ago we finally surprised them by taking them to Williamsburg for the day! Leah styled two outfits for them and did Mom’s makeup and we were off! Despite the drive Williamsburg was a fitting location because it’s where Mom & Dad met years ago when attending grad school at William & Mary.
To begin we started at Crim Dell Bridge. At William & Mary if a couple crosses the bridge together and kiss at the crest of it, it’s believed they will be together forever.
Our second spot was the old St. Bede’s church where my parents were married. Although it’s now being used as the headquarters for campus ministry at William & Mary the exterior is still the same and was a beautiful spot for a few photos!
Our last stop was in colonial Willamsburg where my parents spent a lot of time during their grad program as history majors. We got lucky with incredible light right in front of the Governor’s Palace as the sun started to set and an almost completely empty lawn!
Finally we wrapped up with a few last minute shots in a nearby field and enjoyed some sandwiches from the Cheese Shop (a family favorite) before heading home!
