The blog is back! After a little hiatus I’m super excited to be blogging again and sharing some of the amazing sessions and weddings from this fall. Caitlin and Jackson were my last wedding of 2018 and I was looking forward to capturing their wedding day at Cana Vineyards in Middleburg, Virginia the whole year. Tucked away in Loudoun wine country, Cana is a gorgeous place for a wedding with mountain views and beautiful fall foliage.

Caitlin and Jackson’s entire day was beautiful, but my favorite moment was their first look. We found a little clearing in the woods along the edge of Cana’s grounds where they saw each other for the first time that day followed by lots of almost married portraits. Their sweet pup, Lane even joined in for some!

As the sun began to set Caitlin and Jackson had their ceremony in almost the exact spot that Jackson proposed a year before. It was one of the chilliest ceremonies I’ve ever photographed, but the golden hour light was stunning! Guests took advantage of the favors – blankets to wrap up in while they watched them say their vows. Afterwards, everyone headed up to the terrace for an al fresco dinner, with some space heaters of course! The reception was filled with gold and maroon details and nods to Caitlin and Jackson’s love of travel. Each table was named for a destination they had visited, along with a world map escort card display Caitlin had made herself.

Caitlin and Jackson thank you so much for allowing me to capture your memories. Your day was so much fun to capture and I am so lucky I got to be a part of it! Congratulations!
