All through the month of September I’m offering a free bridal session to any brides that book their 2018 wedding with Maddy Williams Photography. Bridal sessions are a Southern tradition, but recently I’ve had more brides inquire about them. Bridal sessions are usually booked in the spring. This gives you time to pick out your dress, hairstyle and makeup. Together we explore a location of your choosing for an hour to capture some beautiful portraits of you. After the session I send an online gallery with your portraits! It’s password protected so only you have access. That way no one gets a sneak peek!

Overall bridal sessions are a great way for a photographer and bride to spend time getting to know each other. It also allows me to figure out which poses work best for you. Below are my three favorite reasons you should invest in a bridal session.

Testing Out Your Wedding Day Look

Since bridal sessions are scheduled in the spring prior to your wedding day they’re a fantastic way to test out your wedding day look! It gives you a chance to see how your hair, makeup and dress will all look together. It’s a great opportunity to figure out if there’s anything you want to do differently on your wedding. To make the most of the session I recommend aligning your hair and makeup trial on the same day as your bridal session. Not only do you get professional hair and makeup for your photos– you get to try everything out together!

My favorite reason to encourage a bride to do a bridal session is because it allows me to spend more time with her before her wedding day capturing beautiful portraits. Your wedding day will fly by, and while I promise to capture hundreds of photos of you looking beautiful on your wedding day, the bridal session allows for a relaxed experience with many more portraits. People joke that you only wear your wedding dress once, but this lets you get dolled up at least one more time! These are photos that you’ll treasure for a long time and future generations will look back on. Investing in a bridal session only allows you to capture more beautiful memories.
