Katherine & Joe || 48 Fields Wedding

48 Fields Wedding in Leesburg, Virginia

Joe and Katherine are married! This was such a long awaited wedding day. These two booked with me back in 2019 and like many couples unexpectedly found themselves having to navigate wedding planning in the middle of the pandemic. Their original spring date fell right into the first COVID shutdown. They chose to postpone and plan a more intimate wedding for October instead. I’m so glad they were able to finally celebrate with their closest loved ones!

Rescheduled and Rustic

When I asked Joe and Katherine how they would describe their wedding day they told me “rescheduled and rustic!”. And lucky for them their venue, 48 Fields, was the perfect spot for it no matter what the size. The renovated white dairy barn is beautiful backdrop perfect for any fall wedding. On top of that it has multiple spaces making it perfect for both large and small gatherings so it was easy for Joe and Katherine to adapt their wedding plans as their guest list changed. They had the most beautiful fall wedding day and accented all of their decor with touches of dusty rose and blush, fluffy white flowers and greenery.

First Looks With Dad

Katherine got ready with her sister, mother and mother-in-law in 48 Fields farmhouse. Before she saw Joe, Katherine she shared a private first look with her dad on the front porch where he was able to see his daughter for the first time. Then while Katherine stepped inside so we could get Joe set up for their first look Katherine’s dad surprised us all! He snuck up on Joe (who was anticipating his first time seeing Katherine) and surprised him with their own first look. It was such a funny surprise!

After some pre-ceremony portraits, Katherine and Joe exchanged their vows on the ceremony lawn in front of a lush floral moon gate. Guests were able to enjoy games and drinks outside during cocktail hour while we wrapped up the rest of their portraits before everyone headed inside to the reception. Their guests brought the best energy with sweet, funny toasts and a packed dance floor. It was so much fun to capture!

Joe and Katherine, it has been such a pleasure to get to know you two and photograph your wedding day. You two faced more than most when it came to wedding planning and didn’t let it dampen your joy one bit!  I wish you two all best on everything that comes next!
