Loudoun County Bridal Session

It’s really only been a few weeks, but I feel like I’ve been sitting on this bridal session forever! Kate and Alex first started working with me last year when I was running a special promo that included a bridal session with any wedding package booked that month. It was completely optional, but I was so excited when Kate decided to take me up on it! Bridal sessions are one of my favorite things to capture!

If you aren’t familiar with them, bridal sessions are more of a Southern tradition, and allow a bride (or sometimes both members of the couple!) to have an additional portrait session to capture them in their wedding attire. While I strive to capture as many portraits as possible on the actual wedding day it always helps to have an extra hour to get more variety. These sessions are perfect if you want portraits in a spot other than your wedding venue, want to test our your wedding day look or you know you want more photos than we’ll be able to capture on your wedding day!

Kate and I met up a month before her wedding at her venue, Sylvanside Farm in Loudoun County, to capture her portraits. Kate actually had two dresses – one for the ceremony and one for the reception so we got to photograph two completely different looks! We started off in her party dress since we knew she’d get less photos in it on her actual wedding day and switched over to her ballgown style dress just before the sunset to get a few extra photos in it too. I loved that she managed to time the evening with her hair and makeup trial.  Her incredible florist, Growing Wild Floral Company, was able to create her a bouquet as well! The best surprise of the evening though was that Sylvanside’s newest horse also hopped in for a few photos!
