Ben and Bridget are married! The two tied the knot at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA back in August. Although I’ve done sessions at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens multiple times before, it was the first time that I’ve ever captured a wedding. The gardens are beautiful, especially in the summer and have so many vignettes for portraits. The reception space, the Atrium, has all glass walls so you can see the surrounding gardens and a small creek that runs through the room. It’s the perfect space for a dreamy garden wedding!

One of my favorite aspects of the day was Bridget and Ben’s unique color palette. While dusty blues are pretty popular at weddings recently, the goldenrod they paired it with is something I’ve never seen before. I loved the bright splashes of yellow! It popped so well off the blue dresses and made their reception so bright and colorful.

The whole day was hot and sunny, but as we were sitting enjoying dinner we heard thunder rolling in and had to race out to capture their portraits. You might not be able to tell because we had beautiful sunset light, but behind me some dark clouds were rolling in. Luckily, by the time the storm broke they were already tucked back inside kicking off the dance floor with their guests.
