I’m a little later than usual sharing Jeremy and Guzal’s beautiful day, but it’s for good reason. I shot more photos than I EVER have on their wedding day! It took some time to go through all the images and select the best of the best to share from the celebrations. It was so hard to narrow it down!

Jeremy and Guzal married in Washington D.C. at the end of June. They first met over eHarmony and connected through their love of theater. It was only fitting that when the time came that their venue, Arena Stage, was the perfect nod to their shared interests. The theater’s industrial vibe tied in well with their colorful palette of dusty blue, burgundy and slate.

Not only was their day a visually beautiful representation of their shared interests, but also of their different cultures. Before their official ceremony they welcomed friends and family to a private room to stand as witnesses to a Muslim prayer ceremony and the Jewish tradition of ketubah signing. The time before the ceremony surrounded by those who were closest to them was something I found unique to other weddings I have photographed and I loved the family history that was shared in these private moments.

After a beautiful ceremony the party kicked off! Jeremy and Guzal wanted their guests to enjoy every second of the reception and had the night packed with entertainment. The fun kicked off with Jeremy and Guzal’s speech being interrupted by a trio of bottle dancers who had the guests up on their feet and into a Hora. Shortly after Jeremy and Guzal had another surprise for their guests –  Brian Vander Ark of the 90’s band The Verve Pipe was was there to play a short set. The night ended with a packed dance floor and fiber optic send-off for the bride and groom!

Jeremy and Guzal’s wedding day was a whirlwind of fun, festivities and love from start to finish and I’m so glad I got to play a small part in it. Check out a few of my favorite moments from the day below! Congratulations Guzal and Jeremy!
