Anyone who knows me will tell you I am not a morning person, but Caitlin and Jackson’s D.C. engagement session was definitely worth the early morning wakeup call! Last weekend I met these two at the Jefferson Memorial right at sunrise for their chilly morning portraits. They (along with Caitlin’s mom, sister and pup) braved the cold as we took advantage of the empty D.C. memorials.
Caitlin and Jackson met at Virginia Tech their freshman year and have been together five years. A few months back when they were visiting Cana Vineyards Jackson proposed! They’ll be tying the knot at the same place in November!
After we wrapped up at the Jefferson, we drove over to the Lincoln and the reflecting pool for a few more portraits. By then there were a lot more tourists and local runners out and about, but we still managed to get a lot of shots of them enjoying the classic D.C. backdrop by themselves. We wrapped up their session by visiting the D.C. War Memorial for a few pictures in the small rotunda.
