I have been excited about Tia and Andrew’s Shenandoah National Park wedding since they first contacted me in January! Tia and Andrew both work in politics and originally met on a campaign. They dated for the next seven years while they moved around the country. Now they live in Iowa, but their wedding was in Virginia! Back when they used to live in Washington D.C., the Shenandoah Valley was one of their favorite spots. They loved the mountain views, hiking and Virginia wine! When they started planning their wedding they new they wanted it to be a destination wedding, and picked an overlook in Shenandoah National Park.

I started the day by photographing some of Tia’s beautiful details and all her close friends and family getting her ready.  One of things I found so special was that she was surrounded by Andrew’s family as well. It really showed how much love they had for her too, and were so excited to make her an official part of the family.

Then we headed to Dickey Ridge Overlook in Shenandoah National Park for her and Andrew’s first look! You could just tell these two were so excited to see each other and get married! Despite some hot, 90 degree weather, the ceremony was beautiful! After everyone headed back to Luray for the reception at a private lodge in the woods to celebrate! Congratulations once again Tia and Andrew! I loved being your wedding photographer!
