There’s nothing better than collaborating with other creatives! Amy reached out about doing a shoot together in D.C. a few weeks ago and I was so excited to collaborate! Amy’s a lifestyle vlogger and student at Elon University, but she’s also originally from the northern Virginia area.
Our original plan was to meet up by Milk Bar, because we loved the lights and windows we saw online, but when we got there it ended up being slightly smaller and more crowded then we expected. A little further down the street we wandered into CityCenterDC which has beautiful fairy lights, as well as some cool metal snowflakes hung up for the winter season. We managed to time it perfectly, because at 3 p.m. most the street was still mostly empty and we were able to shoot straight down the alley without a ton of people in the background.
Next we headed over to the National Portrait Gallery to make use of D.C.’s classic architecture as well as the colorful, modern exhibits the gallery is currently hosting. My favorite by far was definitely the Electronic Super Highway which added so much bold color to our shoot! Finally we wrapped up the day, by catching some golden light on the streets around the museum!
