Holly & Justin || A Sky Meadows Engagement Session

It seems like for the past few weeks every session and wedding I’ve been at has had rain and dark skies. Even on the days there was no rain the sky was overcast and misty. Holly and Justin had originally scheduled their engagement session on a Sunday evening, but with it looking like rain was in the forecast again we opted to move it to the following day. Lucky for us when we woke up the weather was rain free! It was still overcast, but we decided to push through and lucky for us the weather ended up making their location look even more beautiful!

I met Holly and Justin at Sky Meadows, a huge park tucked away in Fauquier County. The meadows are surrounded by big rolling hills and mountains that were covered in mist for most of their session. It made the scenery so dramatic! They hiked up hills and wandered down paths so we could capture all the beautiful scenery.

Justin and Holly met their junior year of college at Christopher Newport University. They were both RAs and ended up having some classes together too. In Holly’s own words – “slowly we went from co-workers to classmates, and from best friends to soul mates.”

Over the Christmas holidays they traveled up to New York City for a long weekend. They explored the city, saw a show on Broadway and watched the snow fall in Times Square. And during the middle of the trip Justin proposed in Rockefeller Center! This was the very same place his dad proposed to his mom, in front of the Christmas Tree and ice rink.

Holly and Justin, thank you for being flexible about rescheduling your session around the weather, hiking through the fields and braving a humid day. You two are the best, and I cannot wait until your big day next November at Rust Manor! Enjoy some of my favorites below!
