Wedding albums– a beautiful, but often expensive addition to your wedding package. Sometimes it might feel like it’s not worth the extra money. While I totally understand budgets I really do believe that investing in a wedding album is one of the best things you can do when booking your wedding photographer!

With every wedding I deliver all of the digital images in an online gallery. While these are easy to access and download from, my clients usually do not order any prints. This leaves them with only digital keepsakes. For some that may be enough. There’s always the possibility of printing on your own. However, for many it means images sit on your computer and never get printed!

Wedding albums are an expensive investment, but I can assure you that is not the case for no reason. These carefully crafted books are designed with a lot of attention to detail. Time is spent on each page to tell the story of your day in the best possible way. The pages are printed on thick paper that’s durable enough to stand the test of time. Then they are bound in high quality linen or leather.

When it comes down to it your precious memories deserve to be reserved in a handheld form for years to come. Technology may change and you, your children and your grandchildren may one day not want to deal with the hassle of storing or converting photos to whatever file type or technology you need to view them. A wedding album allows you to preserve your wedding day in an easily accessible form.  These heirlooms are treasured and passed down through your family. I’ll never stop loving the ease of online delivery galleries, but a beautifully crafted heirloom of your printed memories you can hold with your own two hands just can’t be beat.

If a wedding album isn’t in your immediate budget don’t stress! Myself and other photographers often would be more than happy to let you purchase an album at a later date. You’ll still get the same beautiful album just a few months further down the road. It could be a great one year anniversary gift to yourselves instead!
