Saturday afternoon I drove down to Richmond for my first engagement session in the city! Beth and I actually worked together on JMU’s yearbook a little while back and reconnected when she posted in a Facebook group looking for a JMU wedding photographer. Both Beth and Juan are JMU grads and will be getting married on campus in the JMU arboretum!

The two have recently moved to Richmond so we wanted to pick a location that was nearby their new home. We ended up choosing Maymont Park and lucked out with the most beautiful weather! A lot of the trees had started to bloom and there was a huge variety of backdrops in the park. While the Italian gardens were busy with a wedding, we still managed to explore all of the Japanese gardens as well as some of the surrounding grounds! Beth also brought along some props to incorporate– including the sixth Harry Potter book so we could get the perfect ring shot with “The Unbreakable Vow” chapter.

I had such a great time getting to know these two! Beth and Juan were so sweet and kept laughing between each picture! I can’t wait for their August wedding!!
